ALERT: dailies 12/19-12/25 POSTPONED!

hi friends, and merry christmas! unfortunately, my present away-from-home-ness for the holidays means that i am scannerless, and can't update my dailies until i get back! i apologize for the suspense; please look forward to a super-post upon my return next week! until then, here's a crappy cellphone picture of my packing list and the people i drew at the airport:
i hope everybody else had a lovely and relaxing holiday!  have a great rest of 2010, everybody!

dailies 12/12-12/18.

tomorrow starts the last week of school before winter break and i am SO READY to jump on a plane the moment the bell rings on thursday! here are the dailies:

sunday, december 12th: "sundays why are you always the worst?"
monday, december 13th: "even if we totally fail at our respective careers, at least we can make a killer pizza."
tuesday, december 14th: "one foot in front of the other."
wednesday, december 15th: "planning for change."
thursday, december 16th: "wow it was painfully today obvious how new i am."
friday, december 17th: "slowly regaining control."
saturday, december 18th: "celebrating our own non-traditional baltimore christmas."

perfect early-christmas involved a series of baltimore staples: brunch at miss shirley's (margherita  omelette and pumkin cheesecake-stuffed french toast) and then take-out from iggie's pizza (gorgonzola pear, pesto-spinach-tomato with goat cheese, and duck with asparagus/red onion---WHOA) while watching season one of the wire. since christmas happens before my next dailies post, everybody have a safe, warm, and happy holiday!

dailies 12/5-12/11.

so artmarket was a success! i do have a little bit of stock left over, so be sure to check back at my etsy shop for updates--- you might find the perfect gift for someone you know and like!

sunday, december 5th: "CANNOT FIND THE OFF SWITCH."
monday, december 6th: "prepping and trimming and mounting and wrapping."
tuesday, december 7th: "doing my best to stay in touch."
 wednesday, december 8th: "NOT PREPARED."
thursday, december 9th: "i'm so not sneaky."
friday, december 10th: "RUN OUT OF GAS: now a metaphorical and literal truth."
saturday, december 11th: "eight hours later, i can finally unscrew my smile."

the countdown to christmas break is well underway, and i cannot wait to be able to self-determine my daily schedule and accomplish something other than lesson-planning. NOT THAT I DON'T LOVE MY JOB, i'm just ready to feel like a fully-formed human. have a great week, everybody!

dailies 11/28-12/4+BONUS artmarket preview!

so, when did december happen, exactly? the plus side to winter sneaking up on me is that it is just 2 1/2 short weeks to winter break! yay public school. here are the dailies:

sunday, november 28th: "feeling ready for the week for the first time."
monday, november 29th: "tea is making a comeback."
tuesday, november 30th: "spiraling out of control."
wednesday, december 1st: "we only clean when we have company."
thursday, december 2nd: "letting my guard down."
friday, december 3rd: "perfect sushi with perfect company."
saturday, december 4th: "sprang out of bed and into action."

and! this weekend i have been working at warp speeds to get all my artmarket things organized, packaged, and ready to go! i am almost there, which is good since mica's artmarket starts on wednesday! head up to mica to find a HUGE and amazing selection of art, crafts, jewelry, and more at really reasonable prices. a portion of the proceeds even funds a scholarship for students; it's like the gift that keeps on giving! i'll be selling at the naea/art education table, and if you shop on saturday, i'll likely see you there! here's a sneak preview of my wares:
new this year are notecards in 7 different designs and a selection of 2010 dailies mounted on wooden cradles and ready to go right on the wall, no framing necessary. many of the old standbys are also back, including silkscreens and prints from the "what if...?" series and "the book sleuth."

if you can't make it out to the market, but are interested in some heart-sleeve studio goods for the holidays, don't hesitate to email me! everybody have a great week!
